The Purchasing Mangers’ Index (PMI)

The Purchasing Mangers’ Index (PMI) is a new index introduced by The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), focusing on the manufacturing and services sector in the country. Launched in May last year, with the first results released in May this year, the Index is prepared based on monthly surveys conducted by the Statistics Department of the CBSL.
