The government can generate revenue from different sources, while its expenditure occurs under different categories and activities. The outcome of government operations with respect to income and expenditure is reflected in the government budget deficit and public debt. Sources of financing the deficit determine the nature of the impact that government fiscal operations could have on other sectors of the economy. Further, the structure of the public debt raises issues related to fiscal sustainability. This sector provides data related to all the above areas.
